Markov Chern

Markov practices TCM Gynecology and Fertility in Bali, Indonesia. He returns regularly to China to conduct TCM educational seminars.

Born in Singapore and with a liberal arts degree from the States, Markov also graduated from the Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine. He started practising acupuncture as an apprentice at the Li Zheng Yu TCM Clinic in Taipei. In 2005,  Markov moved from Taiwan to Nanjing to focus on Chinese herbal medicine. While in Nanjing, Markov translated regularly for professors. He is also producer of the language CD for the TCM English textbook used nationwide by students in China.

During the last seven years in China, Markov has spent most of his time in Nanjing learning the integrated East-West approach. This approach entails understanding both modalities and using one or a combination of both in a sensible manner.

While in China, Markov has developed several Clinical Observation programs to assist practitioners and students of Chinese Medicine in enhancing the value of their China experience. Areas covered include:

  • Gastroenterology
  • Pulmonology
  • Oncology
  • Rheumatology
  • Reproductive Medicine

Markov is a strong believer in using traditional medicines in a responsible way. As practitioners of traditional medicine, we have a responsibility to understand the advantages and limits of using ‘Western medicine.’ Only then can we fulfil our role and provide the ‘integrated holism’ that can benefit the patient’s overall health.
